Nope. The smoked lexan comes in thicker sheets and won't fit between the black backing and the clear curved front. 1.5mm is tight as it is, and only comes in clear (at least in these parts)

if I make 'em for others I'd probably make the lexan bit and let you tint your own, so you could decide if you want 20% (what I decided on) or something darker.

why dont you just lightly tint the protective lense that comes factory in the first place? it would be smoked all the time and youd just have to turn the gauges on to see them which would be simple if rewired through the ignitions "on" position

If you were local I would tint it for you for free, But shipping would not make it worth it.

I have a roll of 4 and 20 in the shop.

For windows, 35 is Legal in NC, Looks nice but not great, 20 is nice, 4 is dam dark.

Just spoke to my Tinter, He said the tint will stick to the Lexan but will not stay for long.

Because that would tint out the main gauges, and place the tint far enough away that it could actually obscure even when they're in 'night' mode'. Plus it wouldn't be the modern "flat panel" look I was going for. By having the tint just over the trouble lights and turn signals, they light up nicely whilst the rest of the panel is still "Don't-ticket-me-it's-stock" visible.

fyi

I tried the same idea when installing a harmon kardon drive and play in my car. I tinted a sheet and put the harmon kardon screen right behind it below the deck. It worked great at night, but during the day the glair and reflections made it completely impossible to see through the tint, and that was with 15% tint. You may only need to use 30% since there is no light behind the tint it will appear darker.

Hope it works out though.

Adam

Your Harmon Kardon deck wasn't likely recessed by a few inches as the instrument panel is. I've driven with it on in daylight now and have had no problems.
