GA Dang belt wont stay tight.

My car is a 79 with no air pump or ac.I just have the one belt running from bottom around waterpump and alt.I lost a belt yesterday then bought a new one.I put the new one one and that wont stay tight.I dose not look like its crooked or anything,any ideas?

Is the blot hole striped, and just wont stay tight. If so I would retap the hole with a bigger bolt.

The Alternator pully is worn. I would chew through a new belt in a week or less. Went to Mazda and ordered the pully, which is really two half washers. Changed and no problems for the rest of the summer.
