That is nice John. You must be pretty good with math and know your way around a saw or two.

What are you running besides the sub? Speakers and power.

Awesome build. I wish I had picks of my 18" MTX setup. It was not as refined as this however.

So yea I'll ask again... Did you use something to mount the door speakers, or did you just screw them into the door panel?

Just screwed into the door panels. The doors have been treated throughly with dynomat. Here is a better pic of the door speaker set up.

Oh, you got me. We searched around to find someone else's build because we have no creativity of our own. Dude don't flatter your self. None of us even saw your build until you posted here on my thread. I am sure you are not the first to build a system with the same basic style. Yes some things are similar in placement but wait until the finish project. It will blend with the interior instead of looking like something is stuck in as an after thought.

We are reaching a level of detail you could only dream of.

My installers response to your post.

Looks nice, wish i had the time to do that much work..........

As far as telling John - "We are reaching a level of detail you could only dream of."

and then just screwing the front speakers into the door, well you just blew your level of "Detail" any idiot can screw a speaker into a door. So that sets off your crews skills. Have fun with your cheap build.

Redline, that was not a dig on you, but I guess you can take it as one now. Go ahead and seach his entire forum since the beginning and you will not find one build like mine. This includes all three builds I have put in this car. As Max stated, I have yet to see your level of detail you are speaking of, screwing a speaker into a factory location is not high end! I will put mine next to your professionaly installed system anyday, at 1/4 of the cost of yours.

im curious, if you not using screws to attach a speaker, then how do you attach it?

Your right any idiot could just screw the speakers in, but that is not what we did here. I may have not understood the other posters question. The doors had to be cut, we dynomatted the doors completely, baffled the speaker enclosures, used a spacer ring, and sealed with silicone, and then they were screwed in. So if thats cheap what would you be doing?

John sure seems to be a dig. You post "not bad" and I have done this and looks like you are just coping me. Instead you could be showing some 7 love and offering some suggestions.

Car is not finished but you can see the detail in the door pic. Looks factory in my opinion.

Since when are speakers in the doors a factory location for a 1st gen?

I would think this would hit your leg when driving. Looks is a subjective thing, just like taste.

As far as posting pics I recommend using photobucket. Its really easy and lets you post larger pics.
