Well Glue doesnt work. Maybe ill scrap the using metal idea and go straight to using plexi, only problem is, i dont have a dremel/rotozip yet and i cant find plexi over an eighth inch thick, but i will not give up.

Well once i get mine done ive decided im going to do custom versions of it. Ill take the font you want, and the text you want( if not to long) and make them. And as for changing fonts im definately not sticking with that one, i didnt like that style to much, i am tryin to find alot of different fonts to download so i can look and decide what i like. If you got any reccomendations, send me them, anyhting u think would look good tell me and ill give it a shot.

I don't mean to sound like an idiot here, but I've got a question. The sandblasting idea sounds good. Couldn't you use the solid centerpieces that already exist on 7's, and just sandblast the logo onto it? it would then fit the way it's supposed to, would look a little more like original. You could get them from bone yards, or have people send theirs in to be done... Just a thought.

And yes, I'd buy one/have one done, but I like the script font (like on the side badges).

The problem with using the current ones is that if something goes wrong, have fun replacing it. I wouldnt feel safe in doing it to someones rare centerpiece, i will be able to replicate them almost exactly thou. That will be once i get a dremel

I was at the boneyard the other day, saw several of them. I've got to go back this weekend. Want me to price them out? If they're cheap enough, I could pick em up & send them to you, you could at least give it a shot?

Oh that would be great. Please get the prices and let me know. Heres my new pictures. This is my first completed model. It costed me 3 dollars. But as u can tell from its quality, unfortunately im going to be spending more on future models. Still tryin to find somewhere to get 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch plexi, if anyone knows or anyone knows prices please say so.

sorry about the poor lighting, i have but a floodlight, and a light on my ceiling fan to work with atm. Hoping to get some sort of neon light to put behind it once i get it on my car. Im gona test out how well JB weld holds bolts onto tin lol. I think ill have to use that neon rope light stuff since theres not enough room for a bar light

i suggest that you make the final product so that the light doesnt just face in one direction...instead make it so that you see the same color in all of the "Rx-7" piece.

i think you know that already, but im telling you just in case..this is not me being an ***, just some contructive critisism? or just trying to help.

Yep, i only have like a half inch to work with behind the peice, im sure with my next model using the plexi i will will have even less, so ill proly end up using neon ropelight, even though its on the steep side.

clear silicone will stick. I've used it for taillights and marker lights (that were missing the original mounts), emblems and trim. Just tape it or wedge a stick between the part and the wall over night.

Well ive got everyhting put together on my first model except for the mounting hardware. JB weld keeps breaking, so imma have to either use more, or find another way. My all plexi version will be started soon, just waiting on some good plexi. Imma do it with 2 1/8th inch sheets. Paint the first sheet black on both sides. The second sheet will have a stencil of RX-7 cut out on it. Than that to will be painted black. Then im going to stick them together and make some sort of mounts to hold it in place and make it look stock. Then put some lights.

nice to hear your progress...

hey i have a suggestion..it may be a little more difficult than what your doing but how about making it so that you only see the oulines of the letters? probably glowing red or white or whatevers. i think that'll also look nice. just my .02 rotors(cents)!
