On that same servo, follow the the silicone hoses that are attached. One of them goes to a "T" fitting which is notorious for breaking. If it doesn't have it's vacuum, it won't work.
HOWEVER...
You DO know that you're supposed to hit the cruise control button the the stalk to engage, it's not just the override button on the dash. Right?

If everything looks good under the hood, the control box is under the bin behind the drivers seat. They usually are just fine unless you have a large water leak that gets down there. Then the unit can corrode up easily.

My cruise on '85 GSL-SE isn't working either. Checked the computer and it's fine. No water damage.
The light on the switch on the dash lights up but when I press the set button, nothing happens.
SHould I see a light on the dash when the cruise is engaging? I thought maybe the brake switch was not functioning properly, but I checked it and it works fine. Still have to check the the cluth switch.
I also noticed in the wiring diagram that thier is a diode on the 13B engines but I can't seem to find where it is located???
Also, I have 2 wire in the console near the stick **** that are not attached to anything? SHould these 2 be connected together or to something on the tranny to let the cruise know you are in gear?
Thanks.

The cruise setup consists of a computer (in driver's bin), the on/off button, the resume/set/coast arm, and the vacuum actuated servo under the hood or (passenger side mounted near the vin/paint code plate, also above the sub zero start assist).
If the light goes on when you press the on switch, then chances are that the computer is working - this switch is wired to the computer and if the computer didn't work, the light wouldn't go on.
My guess would be that you may have a vacuum leak in the rubber hose that goes from the "big canister" (mounted above the sub zero assist) to the solid vacuum lines. If there's a whole in the hose, the canister isn't receiving a signal and it won't pull on the throttle. Check that first.
Next, I would check to see if the "big canister" is actually functioning. It works by receiving a vacuum signal and then uses a servo to pull on the throttle cable, adjusting the force needed to keep you moving at a constant speed. Check the connections and if they're good, then there could be something wrong with the motor.
Finally, inside the steering column cover, there is a four wire connector for the cruise arm. Check that connection.
