The day started at 9 am. started taking apart the suspension and brakes on the 7 this morning. Plan was to change bushings on the lower arm and the rod that goes forward from the lower arm. For the life of me cant remember what the name of it is. Swap out the strut inserts for a set of adjustable koni's and install rotors and pads. Well, with the one severly fucked bolt in the lower arm that after 20 years decided to become one with the metal sleeve inside the bushing all went well. I only manage to get half done, the driver side. Still have to work on the passengers side.
Rotors are from ebay, pads are from atkins rotary(thanks for the free oil filter) and the bushings are from VB.
Love finding thing like a set of tokico blues inside the struts. Least someone has looked down here in the last 20 years. Too bad they were shot. the insert would go full stroke with no resistance at all. Just hope I find a matching one on the otherside when I get to it
I did wire brush the calipers and braket and put alittle hightemp ceramic paint on them. Figured with the shiney rotors didnt what rusty calipers.
Everything went pretty easy till I saw I had to take the whole strut out to get to the bolt on the bottom of the caliper bracket. bah wasn't that bad just kind of annoying. Day finished at 5 pm after a honeydo list in the middle of the day and a parts run for new bolts to put my lower arm back on.
and for the pics

Wow, this looks like a common theme these days:
Combined with Hawk Black pads, these rotors look great and stop the car better than anything else I've done in the past. Stainless brake lines make a difference in pedal feel, as well. Nice job,
