Crazy Manifold price!!!!!

So I went to peircemanifolds.com and sent them an email. I was asking how much the one peice manifold was for a 6port engine. The guy emails me and says its $850 and has a lifetime warrenty. This sounds like a rip off in a half. He said it's not like that chinese crap that is made out of shitty material. Can anybody tell me what exactly they make this manifold out of that would make it cost $800 freakin dollars?

You looked at the wrong one, FCKing. Josh is looking for this, but not for $800.

If it's a one-off, that's probably why it's so expensive. To fabricate anything for a specific one-time application costs alot because of the time and labour involved in creating it. If they list that manifold as one that they sell a lot of, then I wonder why it's so high.

Anything "specialty" built will be expensive, but not always a warranted expense.

If the aux ports are not funtional on this set up, change the end irons to 12A ones, assuming you have an SE motor, and get the 4-port 13B intake.

If this is an 86+ engine, use the TII end irons.

Well the motors already built. So I can't do anything there. It's a 6 port 13b.

Iirc, the RB upper manifold bolts up to the stock LIM. Is this an SE or 86+ engine?

86+. I was told to take the sleeves off the 5th 6th ports, but nobody has a pic of what they look like.

Okay, here's the deal, we (southerrunner and I) know where the 5 and 6 ports are, and we see what we need to remove. What we don't know is what to use to block off the holes that will be left when we removed the entire actuator assembly. There will be a hole left that is circular with two dog ears (one on either side) with screw holes in each dog ear.

Are there any plates that we can buy to block off these holes that are located on the firewall side of the LIM (when installed on the car)?

If this still does not make sense, I will take pictures tomorrow.

I removed the ports the sleves and pressed the bushings out of the manifold. Then i used rtv and dimes to seal the large hole up then i used the washer that was removed on top of the dime and replaced the bracket and the screws on top of that to hold it all together. been running great for the past 30k. Sounds ghetto but will work.

If that intake has the ability to allow the aux ports to funtion, use them, overall performance is better. If you choose not to use them, either make a block off plate that incorporates the 2 screw holes, or have them tigged closed permanently.

^exactly. If you can still use them, keep them. Nothing to gain from taking them out and only something to lose.
