the number of cold cranking amps your car can draw depends on the battery thats in your car.

starter

The '79 FSM shows less than 50 amps for the manual trans starter and less than 100 amps for the automatic trans starter. This is with 11.5 volts and NO LOAD.
I would expect the current draw in car while cranking the engine to be 100 to 150.
Are you trying to decide on the wire gauge for relocating the battery behind the passenger seat? I may be able to send you a chasrt for voltage drop VS amps and length of run if it would be of interest.

Piston typical

12A only needs a small starter it's a small engine and compression is nominal.

Sorry
Looks like I will need to send it as an email attachment to you individually
Send a private message with your email address if you want the chart.
If you know how to get it down to under 100 KB let me know.

retry Voltage drop charts

I re-sized the charts so hopefully they will come through this time.

I like to use the continuous chart since it is based on a half volt drop.

Thanks for the information,

Sorry for the late reply, the site decided not to notify my of it.

I was just trying to figure the smallest size of the battery i could put in the car to run it ^^

makes no sance to put a 800cca when i can do with 500cca and save on front wight load.

once again thanks.

Thanks Wecycle.
I could have used it in metric, but this will do just fine.
