He's just an enthusiast doing the rest of us enthusiasts a HUGE favor, its not like he's the head designer of a big performance company. I think it WAS a good idea to let everyone know about it to gauge interest before going ahead with it.

Thing is, RX-7s have been doing great at the track for a long time before this, so it's not actually a big favor at all.....if it ever sees the day of light....even one fuzzy pic would shut a lot of people up, but if it never surfaces, then the whole thing has the very air of just someone's pipe-dream...

CPR probably said "This is too damn expensive", and from their race building experience propose that the bottom plate be fabbed from tube, because everyone knows that fabbing a part from tube is the easiest, fastest, strongest, and cheepest way to do it.

J.O. did'nt just come up with a better design for all of us. CPR came up with a better production route.

We're waiting for a blowjob, and instead we get a snowjob.

Precisely....to get a better idea of how it should have been done, look no further than Sterling and Carl carby thread.....one day, there's this sudden thread pitching a business idea and the next week, they're hard at work trying to get cores and business, BUT THEY'RE OPEN FOR BUSINESS!...Right about now, I'd be asking the mods to remove this entire thread since it's wasting server space and then post nothing else until some pics are available or the product is shipping out...

It's no big deal. I sure don't have all my **** together yet. It takes time. But I'm perfectly honest with my customers and people who inquire about a carb. I don't want to hang things up, I want someone to send it in, and I send one out the next day. But it's just not possible. All kinds of **** happens.

I'm just saying, tell it like it is, that's all. I have machining skills, and a small shop. Milling things out takes redickulous set-up time, even for an experienced machinest like the one who taught me.
The unforseen **** happens at 3000 RPMs. The miller throws a friggin bit. Waddever.
I'm just saying, we're all big kids, and despite what Jack says, we can handle the truth! The ones who say they won't buy it cause J.O. has to charge $375 instead of the $200+ he said, well ****- they were'nt gonna buy it anyfuggin way.

I'm still gonna buy one. By the time they're available with no bugs, I just might have the money.- That is, if Mario ever buys a ****** carb from us!

Whewww...(pulls tie from collar) it's getting a little warm in here...I just hope they stick with it and get this puppy done.

IMO this is a tough project on a critical part. I hope it works well, improves steering, everyone buys one, people love the product, the designers and parties that helped develop it make enough coin to make them happy, they invest that coin in the next big automotive engineering marvel for the Rx-8, they become super- duper rich off of those sales, they treat everyone on the forum (1st gen of course) to some fabulous weekend get away on an island near the Bahamas complete with wine, exotic women wearing palm skirts and flower pasties with none of their fathers around, lotsa roasted pig and other food, Sterling and Carl offering tutorials on how they really disguise beat up Holleys as modified Nikkis (cats outta the bag), we laugh and have a great time, go to bed after 48 hoursof partying and go home back to our perfect handling 1st gens (with complete knowledge of how to really tune a Holley disguised as a Nikki .

I would never insult your intelligence and why is everyone so stressed out? Get over it. Lets get one thing straight-this is MY product and CP had NO influence on the tubular design change and or the xtra time I have been taking to get this right. The new design actually costs more to produce and takes longer to make but is much lighter and stronger and is the way I, yes I, want it. You all have to remember this was originally for me and me only and I just wanted to share my idea but then everybody wanted me to make them one...fine but now I have to come up with a way to do it efficiently and still keep it the way I want on MY car.
You wait and see. I personally will have the very same kit you will get. It will be no better or have any fancy tricks which I could not sell to you cause of cost, it just wont happen they are all the same.
Just to re-cap... dont blame CP Racing for the delay,blame me. CP has no say in how the final product will be only me. CP is the distributer not the designer only me. CP did not come up with a better production route I came up with a design change late in the game and wasted quite possibly a fair amount of pre made flat bar brackets...my loss, oh well. I only want you to be happy with the system and to tell every 1st gen owner the truth "This was the best money I have ever spent" no more no less. And as for cost, I dont know!
I have not sat down and figured it out cause I dont have time. As for pics I have not posted any cause of the design change and I have no pics of this new design yet. I will probably not xplain myself again cause you now have more than enough info to hold you over till the debut.

I'm sure the end product will be very fine and I for one am willing to wait. I'm very pleased to learn that your keeping with the project and strive for perfection. I mean geeeez.... after reading some ot these comments I might have said the h3ll with it a LONG time ago.

i know....man personally im kinda glad theyr'e taking their time....i know it's coming cuz i go down to CP once a month and find out (thats how desperate i am) but anyways the more time they take perfecting/testing it the better it's gonna be for us....cuz think bout it somone has a 400 hp FB and they put a flimsy *** kit into their car and as soon as they take it out on the track the whole thing jus goes pop and it's over, wasted money and wasted time....now Chris for example from CP racing has 250 or sumtin hp in his car and the guy beats the crap out of the car and the kit is still fine i guess they wanna put as many kms of beating into the kit to see it's durability....patience is after all "THE KEY TO SUCCESS"

Insipid dawg! I was going to wait until you had a four color brochure of all the different carb levels and choose the Nikki SC Level III Emissions-compliant model PN 666.......and that will prolly be out before this rack-and-pinion job...again, rexes were dominating on the track and in SCCA competition before this idea popped up, so it's not like the earth will shake....no pics at all?? From anybody?? Can anybody say Unicorn?

So the new tubular design's prototypes are completed and in testing is what you're saying basically... You're putting three prototypes of the "new" system through it's punishment to test them while working out specifics on price of, speed of, and availability of production, right?

Sounds great. How's the new design holding up so far? Have you guys done much in the way of like autocrossing with it? You guys probably know better than anyone what kinda stresses we can put on our steering systems, so I'm sure you'll take that into account.

The "new" design is a bit more expensive, we hear that, but does it seem like it will take longer to produce/install?

And finally, do you think we could recap what *we* need to bring to the table to make this system work? I remember hearing that you needed something out of a VW rabbit... What's the exact/total list of stuff that we need to add to your kit to make this magic all happen? Can these parts be bought at parts stores, or do we need to find them in boneyards? What gets replaced out of the old system, what gets kept?

Can your sister still install the new one ? Does she come with the new one ?

Well I must appologize to you, J.O. It sounds like you're either very much on top of it all, or just plain fulla ****, and I doubt it's the latter.

You're taking the criticism like a champ. I really can't wait for the debut, and I fully intend to buy a kit from you when money is not so much a problem for me(!).

I thought I had you all figured out, and I was wrong. I should've kept my mouth shut- for two reasons:
#1, so rarely are we (rx-7 enthusiasts) ever given options of kits designed and inspired by one of US;
&#2, My first modded carb client has been patiently waiting two weeks more than I said it would take.

...Had a handful of stone to throw, but forgot about the greenhouse I live in!

My appologies. (gotta admit, I got some info outta you by stirrin' the pot, though! )

Great news! I've completely redesigned the 1st gen RX-7 suspension. Rack and pinion steering, ue upper lower control arms, 3 link rear end and optimized mounting points. It will blow away any Z06 you encounter.. I'll post pictures as soon as I have time.. gosh I'm overwhelmed right now..
