Could You Help With My Engine Swap Real Quick, Please?

Ok, 84 GS engine going into 83 GSL. I just now noticed that the harnesses are on the wrong side of the car (they are opposites). Any easy remedy, or should I just hope everything still lines up and will reach? Also, the 84's carb has an extra silonoid on the passenger side of it, and a wire that plugs into it from the harness. Since the 84's engine/carb assembly is going into the 83, and the 83 has no wire to tell this silonoid what to do, should I just use the 83's carb since it was made for that car and all the wires will work with it? Last but not least, are there any other little surprises like these that I should watch out for? Thanks everyone .

I dunno on that one, If it were me, id just dump the emission stuff all together. But if you want another solution, just use the 83 GSL wiirng harness and carb

Yeah exactly, just scrape everything off of the '83 and layer it onto the '84 engine.

Ok, well should I swap over the intake manifold too? Or should I just forget about it? Also, Im gonna be putting a RB header and presilencer on it soon, what kind of block-off plates will I need? Can I buy those from RB? Will the alternator be ok running by itself without the airpump (as far as the belts go)? I also have no A/C (removed), I dont know if that matter...

Block off plates are available from RB or Mazdatrix. Or you can make them out of 3/8" aluminum plate.

You alt and water pump CAN run like that. But water pump will suffer at high revs cause it doesnt have enough to turn it. Search the 2nd gen forum, for $5 pulley. Someone found a mitsu pulley to work on our applications. Beats the hell out of a $50 one

On mazdatrix's site they are in the racing section. ACV block off and I forget the name of the 2 10mm nut one in the rear of the intake. They are intake year specific
