Cotter pins on Nikki linkages (1/32"?)--Where to buy?

Where can I buy cotter pins to fit Nikki linkages? The smallest I've been able to find at any local hardware is 1/16", which looks about double the size needed, so I'd guess 1/32". The Hygrade rebuild kit I used had some, but not enough to cover everything I took apart, so I need some extras to avoid re-using old pins.

I've found nothing online, either.

TIA,

Take the little wire thingy from the bread wrappers, burn or peel the paper stuff off, and use that. At least that is what I did. I also made the mec secs using that.

I've said it a million times before- those cotter pins are the WORST to handle. The engineers should be shot for not thinking up something better..

Did you try to find a customer support line for Hygrade and see if they can ship out some extras? The bread twistie has also worked for me in a pinch (until I found the little bastard lodged between the no-mans land between the manifold and the block..)

I'll try the twistie idea if I can't source a proper replacement. Of course, the bread I have in the house uses the plastic twister thingy =p.

I'm hoping Sterling or RX7Carl have a supplier that they'll mention.

I like cotter pins a hell of a lot more than I like small diameter E- or C-clips. Those bastages suck, especially when the smallest flat blade in my jeweler's screwdriver set doesn't fit behind them to pry them off.

I searched everywhere I could think of (online and around town) when I rebuilt my carb and never did find them. In some places I had some success with cutting off one leg of a 1/16" cotter pin.

I know on the OMP rod I can force a 1/16" one through with no probs, but after having rebuild Eric's carb I had to re-use one of the cotter pins because the kit only had 2 and I needed 3.

Carl, Sterling.. if you have these pins, I'd pay like $1.50CDN each to have you mail them to me in an envelope! In the meantime, the old one is holding fine, and I used it on the least important place - the fast idle linkage hooked to my choke ****.

AMAZING, evil jay says something useful. Just stay away from DSM's and you will be fine. BTW, I stole your car, cut some nuts, blew your clutch out doing so then lost control and hit a lightpole in Pamida parking lot. I left and your car got impounded. Sorry about that man.

You can use SS saftey wire in place of the cotter pins. I probably have some leftovers laying around if you really need them though. Sterling and I throw NOTHING away.

A paperclip does the job for me. A single paperclip and a pair of needlenose pliers equals several cotterpins
