Corner seals

As most of you know i got my engine apart, but upon inspecting the seals, i notice all of the corner seals have a rubber plug in them but one on each rotor. I assume this isn't normal but why would these plugs just disappear?

It's normal to find some of the corner seal plugs missing. They seem to just disintegrate or fall out especially if the engines driven hard. Could be due to the fact that the apex seals start chattering at high rpm. They're not very critical though. Many engine builders just leave them out when rebuilding an engine.

I cannot figure out why my engine was loosing compress if they're unimportant, one rotor face on each rotor had poor compression. My apex seals looked great, same with the sideseals. One out of the 6 springs were bent.

If only one face shows poor compression that normally indicates a side seal problem. What were the springs like? Could be sticking too.
