Coolant leak, Bellowing smoke - Assistance needed !
Hello to all!
So! from the start I'd like to say I'm new to the whole RX7 scene and Rotaries as well. That being said I'm having a tiny issue with my 83'.
A while back I pulled the choke and started the car and it ran fine, the Idle was high and I read on this gracious forum that it could stay at roughly 2,000 for a while and it will settle and the choke will pull itself in. I tend to push the choke in until the car sits at 1,500 and then let the car do the rest, But one day I pushed in the choke all the way and the car sounded fine for a while.. Then I gave her some gas and she sputtered and died. I didn't think anything of it so I tried restarting the car, she was turning over but nothing was sparking.. I looked into the Carb and it was full of Gas, bubbling gas ! I let it sit for the day and went on with the body work, I didn't think anything of it.. I thought I might have flooded the engine so I bought brand new spark plugs (Old ones were due anyways) And today when I turned it over Shazam! It worked, the car started but only after possibly 30 ish seconds of hold down the gas and turning the key. Now once again I read on this forum that you should hold down the pedal in the "On" position to get the lines working ? So I always do that before starting the car. Back to when it started, nothing really bad happened when it booted up but shortly after (5 seconds) The car bellowed a metric "buttocks" load of smoke. All white and it smelled sweet (I read that it's a coolant issue) it kept getting worse and worse so I turned it off let it sit for a bit .. Turned it back on once more and coolant literally shot of out the exhaust, its a lot of liquid out the rear and pretty much in a vertical pool .. I read on here Alumaseal is the way to go but I don't know exactly which product to use? Or is my car just Toast ?
I also read about doing a Carb clean and something about a "wet" gasket ? If anyone could help me honestly I'll appreciate it immensely !

Holding down the pedal is a prescription for a flooded rotary. A slight pump after a crank or two may be required if its not sealing and making compression from being inactive for a few weeks but no holding down the pedal.
On to the coolant issue. How long did it sit? The time frames from your description is not easy to tell.
Is you coolant low?
If its a minor coolant seal leak AlumaSeal can be your friend. Its in the usual advancedzone or whatever they call em up in Canuk.

Sitting for about a week or so ? .. I have no idea what's wrong with the bugger..
The RPMs tend to go up as well if that's any more indication towards a solution ? White bellowing clouds out the back along with Coolant spilling heavily out the rear and RPMs that rise when Idle..
Any idea? Thank you!

Coolant is full, well it was after some shot out the rear pipe..
Might I add when idling, And while smoke is coming out the back the RPMs slowly raise on their own, Is that something to do with a coolant leak ?

The car's been only sitting for a week since it was fine
Coolant is pretty full, except now after it shot out the rear..
I ordered some Alumaseal and hopefully that'll do the trick, do I just use one tube ?
