coolant leak

one night when i was driving around my car spewed out all of its coolent within about 2 mins randomly........and i had to limp my way home [ turning the car on and off while driving....making sure it wouldn't over heat.... ]......... so when i got back from work the day after that, i thought about it, and i was like....hmmmm.....for it to lose coolant that fast it must be a broken radiator or hose, so i took off the radiator and it was fine.......looked at all of the hoses.....they were all fine......so i was like....hmmmm wtf.......so then i started looking at the spots around the water pump, and i saw that it looked like somewere by the water or under the water pump it was a consistant drip of coolant.......without the car even being on!!........so i was like hmmm.......my water pump must be gone.....so i bought a brand new one and installed it........today......same problem.......

its leaking somewhere by or under the water pump.......like.....between the block and the coolant housing deal or something......i cant see up in there to be able to tell....

what do you guys think it is??

When you changed the water pump, did you take the wp housing off too? If you did, there are 2 0.020" shim washers on the 2 passenger side studs. These make up for the thickness of the gasket between the housing and front iron.

If that's not it, start looking for cracks in the housing, a bad gasket, etc.. Where did the coolant go? If it didn't pour out on the ground, check your oil.

On the bottom of the water pump is what's called a weep hole. When the bearing or internal seal goes, coolant leaks from the weep hole as a warning the pump is failing and needs replaced.
