your radiator is clogged, I tryed the fan, then the thermo and it was still overheating, just get a new radiator and it should fix your problem.

Very good idea. helps keep your coolent fresh, and flushes out any debris, and helps prevent clogs.
I do mine about once a year...

I would flush once you put the new one on so that you have good flow to get any junk out of the engine. I always use 60/40 60 persent distilled and 40 antifreeze.
The distilled water does not have minerals in it which causes build up in you engine and radiator.

Is your e-fan turning the right way? make sure it's sucking not blowing.

Could also be a slipping belt.
Check to see if your belts are tight/ in good condition.

A loose belt is especially bad if you pulled your air pump and now have only one belt spinning around the water pump.

It's a good idea to run a dual pulley if your not running an air pump, but not completly necessary if you have a good, tight belt running around the alternator.

Fans don't do much for cooling once the car is going 40-60 mph depending on the car. So the fact that it has a hard time cooling on the freeway means that at least one of the following parts are on their way out:

Thermostat
Radiator
Waterpump

Sense you just replaced the thermostat, I'd guess the radiator is the culprit, like Pittdp says. But also check the water pump.

Something I have seen more than once is a buildup of debris on the front side of the radiator, between it and the AC. The front of the AC is clean, and you can see no problem on the backside of the radiator. But when you pull the rad out, you find alot of crap on it's front. Before I would buy a new one I would pull it out and check. If you have alot of buildup, get it all cleaned off, straighten any flattened fins, and do the same with the AC (in car). Be very carefull not to damage anything and if the inside of the radiator does not look too bad, try a flush and refill. Also be sure the lower rad hose is good and not collapsing when hot and running at 4K rpm. Also the fan should be pulling from the front of the car and blowing on the engine.

You will still get buildup in the radiator. The aluminum rotor housings, the iron side housings, and the brass in the radiator all act like a shitty kinda battery, with the coolant being the electrolyte. When patteries die, most of one metal electrode gets deposited on another. Crack open a dead car battery one time and see. The nice lead plates covered in Lead sulfite... Same thing happens in the engine, although at a slower rate.

oh, but back to your question... i don't see any problem using just a 30amp inline fuse. i will be doing my efan install later this week hopefully, and that's what i plan on using.
