Convert 12A carb fuel fittings to -6AN fittings
Convert 12A carb fuel fittings to -6AN fittings
How can I convert the carb fuel inlet and outlet to -6AN or -4AN? I like the look of the steal braided line with -AN fittings better. I'm trying to get away from using clamps.
It looks like to can use a compression fitting if the size matches up. Still looking for comments or suggestions.

yeah, thats pretty much the only clean looking option with the nikki. Its too bad that no one has produced any -5an, esp as so many vehicles already come with 5/16 fuel lines
use -6 but you can still use a 5/16 fuel injection line. be sure to soak the fuel line with hot water. once it is soft, install it on the fitting. this is what ive done to my carbs. note that the weber has the same inlet thread pitch as the old school nikkis but havent compared them with the rx7 nikki

I probably wont start this project until after I powder coat one of my old carbs.
My RX-3 with 13-B bridge/52 mm IDA's return line has a restrictor from a rx7 but i used a 5/16 line coz the AN is too hard to compress with a hose clamp. you can see this on the above pix. i have no experience with steelbraided but im sure it is the same as the aeromotive non steelbraided lines

Steel braided for fuel lines is a bad idea. If you ever loose a ground strap, what is the next available ground? It is the steel braid. Let's just say vapor lock won't be a problem anymore. Where's that evil looking smilie?
Just use EFI rated rubber (neoprene) fuel line and be done with it. It lasts forever on a carb.
