Confused About Timing Please Help

Confused About Timing Please Help

Just wanted to get some info on setting the trailing. I set the leading mark to the pin at idle(800rpm). It's running pretty smoothe. My question is should the trailing mark line up with the pin at idle too? I'm running a 12A with a Mikuni and RB exhaust. Any info would be great. Thanks guys.

Unscrew the two screws on the vac. advance diaphram on the dizzy and set your timing light pickup to T1. Move the diaphram piece until the light lines up against the 2nd mark on the pulley. I believe this is how it says in the haynes manual, though I can't remember exactly.

Thanks Jayroc. I'm reading the haynes manual now. Does it matter if the diaphram is open to atmosphere? Or should I cap them?
