Cone filter brought an se to life!

Just thought I'd share this. I drove my friends gsl-se with a drop in k&n and full racing beat streetport exhaust (nothing special). Then he added some cheapy blue cone filter with adapter to mount it directly to the front of his air flow meter that he got off of ebay for dirt cheap. I drove his car again and could not believe the difference! It was really noticable, not one of those well......I think it feels better, you could really feel the difference. THe gslse airbox must be really restrictive. I think he only paid like 10 bucks for the kit and it came with the filter and a nice plastic adapter that attaches to the front of the air flow meter. Of course he has plans to get a real k&n to bolt to that adapter.

Yeah rotaries are very responsive to airflow mods, such as a header and intake in your friends case.

Yeah, I really couldn't believe it because I have driven his car on numerous occasions. He told me he put a cone filter on and it felt better, I was like yeah right. Then I drove it and was like ??????? Maybe the full streetport exhaust on his stock port motor was making it run rich then the filter leaned it out? I dunnno. I think someone richened it up by opening his airflow meter up and turning that wheel awhile ago, maybe the filter helped balance it out.
