compression question

so the rx8's compression ratio is 10:1 and the n/a 12a and 13b motors are 9.4:1 correct? is it a possibility to (if your going n/a setup) raise the compression to 10:1 on a 12a or 13b? and would it help at all? i've heard it's not possible to raise the compression like 12 or 13 on rotaries cause the motor would have to be shaped a different way for it to work. but is 10:1 possible and worth it to make a little more power?

or does anyone know a shop that makes high compression rotors for 12a motors? and another question. what is the benefit of lightened rotors. im assuming it will give greater response, but will it boost hp at all

:wconfused I was under the impression that a Rotary probably will never be able to pass 12:1 but ou could get it as close as 11.5:1 or something like that.

Its been a while... there was a thread about this in the engine preformance section... lemme see if I can pull it up.

Here we are! Its been so damn long I forgot I started this thread! :rlaugh

Anyways; here's the link for it... I think you'll find the majority of the information you are looking for.

You dont make power by just raising compression ratio.

It would be pretty pointless considering the amount of money you have to spend to do it.

Intake and exhaust does wonders, so does porting.
