colant leak

I have a colant leak coming out of my frount housing and my front cover, or where the water pump housing bolts to the motor. There was a mount that broke off the top of the motor, when rebuild, that was JB welded back on. It works good untill you get under high rpms. It starts leaking very slowly, but I want to know if I would let all the colant dry out of the place where it is coming of out, and then put RTV on it will it hold it. Or should I go get a whole new front housing and get my motor rebuild after 5,000 miles. I like the first one a lot better. And oh yea, my dad said maybe spot welding the housing, but I don't know. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanx.
oh yea I have a 13b six port with a holley conversion.

As I understand it, according to the Mazda manual, there's a small hole that will leak fluid from the water pump - indicating it's time to replace the water pump. I'm not sure if this is any help, but it might apply...

It's called a weep hole, and yes it does indicate it's time to replace your water pump (according to the Haynes manual anyways). I'd try that before replacing the front cover.

Hes talking about a different spot guys. Red, when you replaced the water pump, I assume you pulled the whole housing right? Did you put the shim washers on the 2 studs that the gasket doesnt cover? The shim washers are to make up for the lack of thickness of gasket material there. This way, when you torque down the nuts, the housing will sit flat and not cocked.

Yep, I am fairly sure it is put back together with the shims. But I am not sure exactly where it is coming from. I guess I will let you know. THanx

I used some form a gasket on the water pump. I had to do it twice but it's held for about a year. You can get the gasket from a dealership only about $5. I would try to gasket the pump a second time before anything more drastic.
