Where is the best place to find coilovers for the 1st gen?

~note the rear strut housings are weak and not recommened to put coilovers in the rear.~

mazdaspeed also has a nice suspension set up for our cars too.

I haven't installed it yet, but I have one of the kits from Respeed (race version). Quality is top notch, as I would expect, and judging by photos alone of the other kits offered by other vendors, I certainly do not regret my choice...

Point of clarification. It's not the rear strut towers that are weak, it's the lower shock mounts that can't support the dynamic loads. That's why the rear shocks and springs are seperate.

trochoid has anyone covered beefing up the shock mounts on the axle to handle coil overs?? if not som1 shound and it should be archived....

thanks for the clarifaction!

I'm gonna search to see if anyone has been able to make theirs stronger to support rear coilovers.

i know on the vw's the rear suspension is just like the rx7 and on their coilover set ups they have the spring/adjustable perch seperate from the strut and it's still adjustable. Do they make something similar for our cars?
