I want to get my Koni's rebuilt and revalved for the springs but it can be quite pricy...having them made to top adjustable is also an option...

Koni reds are not to the level of yellows but are a better shock than Tokico Illuminas, they should be able to handle up to 400lb springs and are excellent for DD, autocross, short sprints, HPDE and more. Anything Koni is a quality product only comparable with Bilstein, at this price they are excellent

So, Are these recommended? I need to replace the suspension in my 84 since it's old as hell. I had priced out some stuff from Racing Beat. The shocks I was going to get were the adjustable Illuminas for $130 apeice. How do these compare (aside from the adjustability)? For $50, they seem to be great. I just want to make sure I won't be wishing I got the others. The car will mostly be used to autox, puttering (zipping) around town on weekends, and HPDE's. I just don't want to regret this purchase.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but those are probably standard Koni orange inserts...not the reds.

Let us know how they work out! Stiffness with coilovers, rebound/jounce control.

Will do, just waiting on outer bearings to arrive. Been installing my carb hat and cold air intake tube today, had to move my overflow canister to the other side of the radiator to make room for the filter. Pics when the filter arrives.

very informative post there Revn....lol

Koni red's are perfect for vigorous street driving, autocross and HPDE type events, they will be much firmer than stock but a huge increase in ability, the next step up is Koni Yellows.

Look at thread tools. It's a drop down to subscribe.

I'm going to make some coilovers too. I'll take pictures and post.

Those GForce Koni's won't fit standard strut tubes...that sucks. They look nice tho.
