clutch won't bleed now

Okay so my slave was leaking and I knew I had to replace it so I went ahead and bought the clutch master also, my problem came after I had the new slave and master on they just won't bleed! I had a friend help me pump and hold while I let the air out for about an hour and nothing there's a little air bubbles but no fluid..this is confusing to me because the line from the master to slave isn't even that long oh also the fluid in reservoir doesn't go down a bit. Any thoughts of what might be wrong here or something else I can try?
