Well the first replacement clutch we ordered was wrong then we reordered the right one. I'll try the adjusting of the clutch pedal.

Well its been to cold and snowy so we havent gotten the car started due to near dead battery, but we have a charger now so hopefully we can get it started sometime soon. But the master cylinder was loose from the firewall, tightened that up but since havent got the car started yet we dont know but I'll tell you guys when we get it started.

Question

Ok well we got it started but even with the adjustments without taking off the tranny, it still doesnt go into gear. Guess we still need some help in this.

I thought you got a replacement clutch? No adjustment is going to help, I have never seen an adjustment work on our type of clutches. Adjustments are for cable type clutches. The freeplay adjustment is done on ours just for pedal travel.

Well gonna take the tranny off and check the pilot bearing and the other stuff since thats what you think it is, just have to wait untill the weather warms up a little more and then we will check it out.

As Trochoid has already stated, this combo won't work if your using the 82 flywheel. The 225 mm clutch plate will fit into the 82 flywheel enough that you may not have realized it's too big but there is no way it's going to release. But if as you said the flywheel is an 85 then the trans. year won't matter, the spline on the output shaft is the same.

If I remember this right, he has an '85 engine, the '85 flywheel on the '85 engine, the '85 clutch and pressure plate on the '85 flywheel on the '85 engine and a 1982 transmission bolted to that thar '85 engine...
