clutch slippage
Ok, I have an issue with the clutch slipping at and above about 5 grand which really stinks because it means I can't use my secondaries at all really. It grips hard below that and I can drop it in and she goes but when it gets into the upper range the engine revvs up but I don't accelerate. Would this be a pressure plate gone bad or what?? I don't think the disk is worn out because it still holds hard when you let it in there is no slip at takeoff only on top end acceleration. I have redlined it before and I believe this to be the cause, and so I wonder is there anything that can be done to prevent this also?

I agree with Rotortuner... You're clutch and maybe you're flywheel is shot.
It doesn't suprise me that you can start out... When you think about it, if nothing is slipping then the full power of the engine is being transferred through the clutch. Your engine will be making more power at 5000 RPM than starting out at 2000 RPM (likely not even full throttle) so really you'd expect it to slip at the higher RPM and with more throttle.
Oh well - perfect time to upgrade your flywheel and clutch.
