clutch question

I am an idiot, but that is beside the point. the problem I am having is I put in a used motor, I bought from someone here. I kept my same tranny and trow out bearing, I used his clutch. Now I can let the clutch out and it will not kill the motor even with the brake on. I was able to drive it home, but I had to rev it up then slow it down and keep doing this to get it home. I bled the hell out of the hydraulics and also saw no leaks. Is there an adjustment for the clutch or do I need to put a new one in. Also I have a few missing parts. the little overflow by the firewall on the passenger side has a hose that I am not sure about where is goes. I will put pics up to show some of the things later.

thats a call for you to make based on how much you want to spend. I personally would go the cheap route till you destroy it and then get a better one. thats what I do anyway.

Get the Centerforce 2 dual friction or equal. Go with the best the first time and save yourself some money.

I had a Centerforce II on my car for like 10k miles and if I had the chance id probably spend the xtra money and buy an ACT clutch, the CF one scared me a couple times, think it mighta slipped... and they dont have the best rep. around

Get the ACT or ClutchMasters Stage 3, I have seen too many slipping clutches come from CenterForce.

Also, which motors were they, and which flywheel did you use?

Makes sense to me, if a linkage or something in kinked or jammed and not letting something move in its full range of motion, maybe the clutch isint bad, its just not being engaged all the way. Like when you just barely let it out till it starts burning off...only its doing that the whole time your trying to drive it. I dunno, it makes sense if the clutch worked like that, I havent gotten that far in the manual yet so im not sure exactly how the clutch works in this car so far .

If your old clutch was fine, the one in there now is shot.

just got confirmation that the new clutch was fine also, so I will be adjusting things this weekend. I have not had time to mess with it, so yet again it is sitting in the driveway. I would also like to know how to put some pics up on this site. I am in the process of making a new web sites, my buddy nathandarby on this site has a web site with many pics of his cars and stuff so it is now full. The new site will have all the pics of the engine removal and instalation if any one needs them. I have somewhere around 100 pics of this process. When I get it set up I will post the link on the forum. We should also have the race pics up there to. check out our scca site for some pics of the prizm I raced two weeks ago.was
