Clutch pedal - no resistance

Hey all -
I have an 83 with a 12A. My clutch pedal has zero resistance and I can’t put the car in gear.

I ordered a master and slave cylinder. Is there anything I should be looking at specifically? It wasn’t a gradual change. Is there a possible linkage issue? I don’t know a ton about the clutch. I’ve been reading, but figured I would raise the question. Thanks for any help.

It does in fact sound like a failed clutch hydraulic component. As rxtasy3 stated, replace the clutch hose as well and be sure to get the correct crush washer for the hose. DOT 3 brake fluid is what you will need for the clutch hydraulics.

Thanks for the info. I ordered the flex line and will pick up some DOT3. I’ll get the parts put on. Where is the bleeder at? I’m unsure how to bleed out the system.

The bleed screw is on the top of the slave cylinder. I found it super helpful to fill the system before mounting the slave cylinder. Then fully bleed after mounted . When mounting it make sure you have the plunger in the correct orientation coming off the slave... there's a little bump on the end that pushes the throw out bearing fork (at least on mine there was). And double check that the plunger is indeed aligned with the fork.

I've always found it a bit difficult to start the screws on the bell housing for the slave cylinder mount, so putting a stud in one hole temporarily in order to locate one side of it was helpful.

For reference, what is the correct size crush washer?....does it come with the new hose?

Parts

The parts just showed up take weekend. I’m going to put them on the next rainy day we get. I plan on reading a bit before I do it. Anyone have the schematic?
