clutch master cylinder and NGK's

my car just received a used carb and now it runs, not only does it run but it uncontrolably spins tires. That is when the clutch works, the mechanic told to exchange the slave cylinder we bled the clutch which worked for like 2 days. There is a $30 slave cylinder at advanced auto zone, it is brand new not rebuilt comes with 1 year replacement and is named like tru-power or something like that. Would that slave work?? Also my speedometer doesn't work? My gauges don't light up? the transmission makes some noises maybe like bad bearings or something, i know im driving it correctly even matching revs. how do i clean the drain hoses like the one around the hatch glass or the sunroof, because they dont drain for like 3 days and thats probably just evaporation. Is $22 a good deal on four NGK's? i think thats it, thanks, zach

The slave from advance auto should be fine. Don't know why the speedo doesn't work, gauge lights is probably a bad fuse or switch. Change the tranny fluid, use some redline or royal purple, takes 2 quarts. It might or might not fix the noise coming from the tranny. What does the noise sound like? For the drain tubes just take a coathanger and push it through them, it'll clear out the clogs. $22 for 4 sounds like a normal price for NGK's, usually around $5 a piece.

As far as the drain hoses do NOT use anything metal or wire. I had best luck blowing on a plastic drinking straw as I insert down the plastic drain tube. Of course I only noticed that they are plugged when there is standing water.

the noise from the transmission sounds kinda like a scraping, like a bearing without the grease or something. Its most noticeable after letting off the gas at high rpms, sometimes any rpms. also sometimes i can hear a rattling kind of sound coming of the shift ****, the sinchronizers are ok they slide in pretty well. i think i'll buy that slave cylinder. and the ngks a little later on. also has anyone tried some tires called Lemans? or the phaser r23's? these tires i can get at $110 dollars in size 175/70/13. thanks

175!! Get some 205's, they fit on the stock rims. These tires are decent, and $42 a piece: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes . It should be somewhere between $20 and $45 to get them mounted and balanced.

Does the noise quit when you engage the clutch. If it does, it's probably the pilot bearing.

I used a turkey baster and forced water in the tubes, cleaned them out after a few attempts , also may try a length of weed eater line but nothing too stiff,,,,,there is a write up search about shorting out two wires that work the dash lights if its not a fuse thats bad, i paid $6 each for ngks at advance and they have a one year warrenty, do u have LSD rear end? , mine has made a whining noise even with the good fluids, gotton use to it...got a clutch slave (new) for $10 at a foreign auto parts store here locally, so may do some phone calling for better price...my speedo was no good, and it has a L shape end that is different than all other cars so i bought a universal one and cut it to right length and crimped on the mazda end and saved the $20 that mazda cables usualy cost, may want to make sure that its just not inserted into the tranny good ...and u can finger spin the cable from under the car and have someone see if the needle is moving at all to see if it is a broke cable good luck...

i think i'll probably just get wynstar phaser r23's in 175/70/13 for now, my dad probably wouldn't buy that expensive of a tire, as great of a value as im sure it is...you think i should just buy three of those sumitomos hehe. i like the idea of a slave for $10 bucks. i don't think i have lsd rear end, mine is a gs and all, but it certainly drifts and slides all over the place, and does excellent donuts in the parking lot. ill check the speedo after i get the car moving again, how do i know which is bad-slave or master?

I was loosing pressure ( with clutch depressed at light , car would start rolling) replaced the slave, didnt help, it ended up being a pin hole size leak in the short cable that goes from the master to slave, another $12, but that fixed it. my master seems to be ok so dont know how to check other that fluid leaking where it goes inside car at clutch pedal i've been told...
