clutch hydraulic questions

How exactly do you bleed the clutch hydraulics... i know where the bleeder valve is i just dont know exactly how to do it....

also, how far is the slave cylinder supposed to push the release bearing out?.. i was testing it out with the tranny off and i assumed it was supposed to go out about a half inch to 3/4 of an inch to the top of the bearing is even with the part that the input shaft comes out of...

i might have a bad slave cylinder.. it dosent seem like its holding a good seal..

Id just go ahead and replace it, its 20 bucks, thats what i did when i first go tmy car. As for bleeding look in a hayes manual they tell ya. Or u can take my directions from memory. Theres a little tit on the slave cylinder. Hook a small hose up to it and run the hose to a bucket. Fill your cylinder, pump clutch a few times, use wrench and unscrew the tit a little bit fluid and or air will come out, tighten and repeat until its all fluid.
