Clutch fans

I have a little proble with my SE's clutch fan, its slips like crazy.(when i shut off the engine it spins at least a good 20 times).
i tried a 12a clutch and 2nd gen 13B both dont work.
I really want to get an electric fan but the good fans are too expensive(black magic, permacool) and i dont want to get a cheap victoria british or candian tire one(in case it doesnt cool enought or breaks.)

How about this welding the clutch fan to be on 100% the time like a truck(watch those fingers :p). would this cause exesive srain on the belt systems and take away quick reviness??

Welding it sounds like a bad ideal, plus you’ll be lugging the load of a locked fan constantly. Which will draw horsepower.

Are you sure your belts are tight, the POS was having similar problems (along with my overheating problems), the belt was loose, which was also causing the fan to spin a bit more after I’d shut her down.

Have you figured out your overheating problem? Is this what your thinking is causing the problem?

Ya its the rad cause even @ high speeds (100km an hour)
the heat climbs steady. and the clutch fan is spinng crazy, everything else is good (did the termostat check still good)

im getting a complete new rad next week (new water level sensor, new cap,new tanks, new side brakets.

Also if the belts are slipping at the fan, the water pump will not be turning well either, since it is what the fan is bolted onto! If the Water pump not spinning it will make your car overheat!

It doesn’t matter what speed you are running at if the water pump isn’t turning, the car will be overheating.

Just a quick question, does your car only overheat when it is moving?

F.Y.I. I scored everything but the sensor from a local Radiator shop for $135.00. Best price I found was $125.00 from a dot com radiator place. Decided to go local, so I’d have support later if I ever needed it.

the water pump works fine i checked it,and no it overheats while standing too.

Which will draw horsepower.
