Question Clutch cylinder(s) selection

OK it's been forever that I bought clutch cylinders and I find that they are seperated by F.I. and carb models (85 GS for this question). I am guessing that the "SE" type will be of heavier duty, but are they functionally interchangeable? Can they be "mixed together" on the same car or do they need to used as pairs. Are the line connections the same or if I go to the "SE" unit(s) do I also need to replace the line. I will probably replace both master and slave, but wonder what the implications are if any. Is this a likely upgrade, particularly if one is going to a heavier pressure plate.

Yes I should know all this but my brain is in a fog, thanks!

since the 13b and the 12a use an almost identical transmission i would assume the clutch slave and master are the same. they both share the same part numbers respectively, and i can vouch for them being interchangable. so no using se clutch parts will gain you no advantage over 12a clutch hydraulics.

the SE slave will work on a non SE 7. the transmissions casings are nearly identical and the bellhousing is tapped to accomidate the slave in the exact same spot on the two transmissions. i would however reccomend going with a braided stainless clutch hose. i have them on my 85 S and my 88 10th Anniversary and they give great pedal feel.
