clear some confoosun for me....

I love saying "confoos"...lol

Anyways...FB's came with 12A and 13B engines. The 12A engine's have mounts on the front of the engine...makes them incompatable with later 13B engines. If the FB came with a 13B engine would a later model 13B fit propperly?

you have to use the FB 13B (GSL-SE) front cover and oil pan to mount a later engine.

they are on the front, hence the reason for using the -SE oil pan

ok...so the FB 13B had the mounts built into the front cover, which required the FB oil pan to clear the mounting aparatus. Outside of that it's possible. Correct?

Felix, you are aware that you're one of the most informtive persons on this forum, right?

Custom motor mounts are not an option, because later 13b's mounted through the oil pan, the same oil pan which must be swapped so the engine will clear the crossmember. So, you dont need the oil pan because of the front cover, you need the front cover because of the oil pan.

Also, if your using a s5 motor, youll probably need to grind down the water pump a little bit to clear the front cover. Or maybe thats only turbo motors, i just know i had to do it on my engine swap(s5 TII)

Hope that helped!
