Cleaning Tail Lights

Hey how do the rear tail lights come apart? They screw apart or what? I would like to get them apart so I can clean the insides. Gotta get ready for Seven Stock you know.

Yeah, cause cleaning 'em aint the problem. . . It's how to safely remove those perspex lens covers so ya can actually get at the lenses. There doesnt seem to be anything holding those lens covers on - 'sept glue/sticky stuff. . .
Even in the HAYNES it only has the removal for the earlier models (6 screws) without the lens covers on 'em - I see your blue baby has those lens covers too iotus! And so it seems, yours greg. (Mine too). . .

here are some pics of my taillights... if you notice around the corner where the lens is orange they are more orange than stock.. that is because the stock ones are "half assidly" painted chrome.. i repainted the ENTIRE inside chrome so it make them look brighter..

hmm
i wish i would have taken pictures to explain this better..

you take the CLEAR outside cover off (i pried mine with a knife and flathead) it took my about 20 min per taillight.... then when it was off i removed the amber and red reflectors... then i painted the insides with duplicolor chrome ,i taped off the edges so i only painted the inside, bacically everything behind the refleoctors got painted chrome.. then i reinserted the reflectors... and resealed them with clear ALL WEATHER adhesive/sealant

ah right, so those clear covers are not bolted or screwed - merely glued on? That what what I was wondering. . .gotta try and get some of that crome paint! and those coloured turn signal globes. . .
Cheers, greg. . .

yep, there only glued on... but im telling you take your time... they will crack easily...

your local auto parts store should have chrome paint, as well as be able to order colored bulbs if they do not already carry them

peace

that sucks.. i think it will make the fb look so much better, i have never seen it on an fb... so i will post pics as soon as i get it complete..

it is legal here as long as the light still shined through and is visibvle from a designated distance.. some crap like that... they have some messed up laws regarding lauto lighting here in Washington
