From experience, use a hotsee if you can borrow one. Turn up the heat to around 300 and use there soap it will tear grease off so fast its stupid. But keep the pressure around the medium setting(thats what it says on mine no PSI) and you will be fine. Keep the car running, wont hurt anything and wont affect the use of the soap. The only area I would not hit with it is around the coils battery, and fuseable links.
I notice that one of my rx7s had lots of dirt and leaves and acorns and other stuff in the frame. I also lost a 14mm socket (it was air ratchet approved) when I was takeing the bumper off. upid mistake. anyway..
Is there a way to flush all that crap out of your frame??

I started with a spray can of engine cleaner, but it just didn't cut it. I read about Simple Green on the forum, and tried it. I was very pleased with the results.
As far the powder mentioned above goes, I found that you need to rinse really well, than when its just about dry and the powder starts to form, you spray it off again. I also bought some kind of brush for dishes at the grocery store that had a really long handle and burshed about 2.5 x 2 inches. Bht back side had a little strip of REALLY hard bristles for the tough stuff. It works great.
Also, you should always wrap up the alternator in a plastic bag or something. The damp inside there can do nasty things. Also remember you have a live hot feed to the alternator, and water conducts electricity.

^^^ very true... i mentioned above that i did not rinse my degreaser off and decided to put on my heat shield to let the hot exh burn that leftover oil and grease out. i understand that oil and grease does not catch on fire because there is nothing to combust to make fire. i thought that the degreaser would just burn off in smoke as well but man i was wrong. my exhaust caught on fire about an hour and. i saw some orange and automatically ran out of my car to the hose, turned it on and ran back to spray at the heat shield. i dont think the fire damaged anything such as the wires around the carb, but im not sure because it is dark. dammit i feel so stupid and sorry for my car like me and my car are one sould. does anyone feel me? sorry for bein all emo but i would hate it so much to see my rx7 go down in flames after all my blood, sweat and tears have been put into it to bring it back to life. anybody have tips for what i should do next? im thinking of driving it quickly enough so that my car wont catch on fire ( but carry a water bottle just in case) to a car wash to rinse around the exh manifold..
