circlipped?

circlipped?

i was reading the specs of a 7 and it said it had 'circlipped' rotors, what exactly does that mean?

rounded i think. maybe not but if you look at the word and cut it up you have cir and clipped. cir= circle and clipped meaning cut. so maybe rounded.

Cir-clipping is done to prevent the rotor gear working itself off the rotor at high rpm. It involves machining the rotor to accept a cir-clip to hold the rotor gear in place. It's the same as snap-ringing.
