choke issue (cold start) on 84 SE

howdy fellow rotor heads,
I have a question for the gurus, is there a way to disconnect or override the automatic choke (cold start high idle) on the F.I. 13b GSL-SE? I've heard the put it in gear trick on the FC's, this doesn't work on the FB E.G.I. My choke is intermittient and tends to make the car idle strangely until fully warmed up, once in awhile it operates perfectly, I.ve been through the intake, tb's, tps etc to no end
I searched the fsm to no avail, finding info on the actually choke system (cold start) is hit and miss.
Thanks for any advice

The fast idle is activated when you depress the throttle once before starting when it is cold out.
I have never seen a thread on the removall of this system.
As we all when a idle issue crops up on a Se it can be many different things.
The best thing you can do is go to the FAQ's where there is about 4 or 5 links for the idle issues and go thru each one.
The idle issue on the Se is one of the most frustrating problems when it occurs.

lol, my fast idle comes on by itself, I don't have to depress the gas to get it to come on, it will engage automatically on cold or warm mornings. I have got it somewhat tamed by adjusting the fast idle cam nearly all the way out, it idles at 2500 rpm at startup then fluctuates between 2500 and 1000 with the clutch out, with the clutch in, it holds steady at 1900-2000 rpm until the motor is fully warmed up, then it runs normal, and as I stated somedays it runs perfectly normal, it does give the car quite the personality and sounds mean when it's doing it, lol yup just your standard SE idle issue
