Checking/manually resetting brake proportioning valve

Hey guys, I've been trying to bleed my rear brakes, but it hasn't been working. I've tried slamming on the brakes in order to reset the proportioning valve in the past, but that hasn't worked. I was just wondering how exactly I could check if it was "set" and if there was a manual way for me to reset it. I'm going to be away from my car for a few weeks so I'm just gathering as much info as possible to make sure I get it back on the road the next time I see it.

Thanks!

Are you getting fluid out of the bleeder when you press down on the pedal during the bleeding process? if not, then you may have a rusty/plugged bleeder that need to be cleaned/replaced.

If you still have the factory rear drum (based on your signature), you may be sucking air back in from a bad/leaky wheel cylinder. Will never be able to fully bleed the brakes if that is the case and can be fairly straight forward to check, just pull off each rear drum and inspect for fluid or wet/grimy gunk around the wheel cylinder.

edit: just saw the other post where the brake trouble shooting was covered... woops. My only suggestion would be to pull out the proportioning block and clean it out in case it is gunked up.

Ah thanks, I know the chances of it being the issue are slim but I'm going to try out a new RR wheel cylinder anyways. I bought a new bleeder valve so that should be working perfectly fine but we all know how that goes.

I guess I don't really have much of a choice but to go into pulling the block. I thought swapping the diff was supposed to be the hard part

Not having access to your car is pretty annoying, but I'll provide an update at some point in the future- hopefully with me driving it! (but probably with me facing even more issues)
