Check out my hockey puck engine mounts
Most of you guys are probably aware of this, but for those who aren't, check out the latest installment. I got the supplies and finally put together my hockey puck engine mounts tonight. I just need to paint the steel sandwich plates. I'll let the pictures do the talking.
I bought the steel plates from this website:
http://www.wagnercompanies.com/disks_and_plates.aspx
The top plates are 3-1/4" diameter 1/4" thick steel discs. The bottom plates are 3-1/4" diameter 1/8" thick discs. Everything gets a 3/8" diameter hole in the middle. Can't wait to try them out. I'm so tired of the 12A rocking around in my engine bay on those crappy old soft mounts.

I've considered this for years, but I wonder if the metal plates are really necessary. Don't they already sit against a solid metal base without them? Or are they for height correction?
Either way, great work man! How long until you figure she'll be road worthy? Got some great races coming up, and you should definitely shoot for July 2nd/3rd if you can.

The metal plates really help for height correction, and also to evenly spread the load against the pucks. If you didn't have the height difference to deal with you could probably just stick the pucks in there and be okay. I like to overdesign everything when I do it though, so I don't have to worry about redoing it ever.
The hockey puck engine mounts are cool too, because you can rebuild them for $2-3 if necessary in the future. Just put a new puck in between the steel plates and you're done!

This is a great, cheap, $8 mod everyone should do. I love mine.

As awesome as these puck mounts are, I still went with competition mounts from RB in my REPU.
Also went with a competition tranny mount. My rocking engine and shuddering clutch ought to be a thing of the past now.

Don Rickles would be proud, sir. (obtuse old comedian reference, meant as compliment)
I'm wondering; why didn't you just cut out your paper centering template, put in on top the steels, and make your punchmark through the paper? Seems easier.

Just picked up two pucks today for less than $5. Going to try to make these and install them next week.
I have seen a lot of people go with dual nuts on these. Would a lock nut and lock washer not be suffice?

Just installed mine today. Very cheap and easy modification, and should work a lot better than my busted old mounts. Now I just need to get the car back on the road.
