Cheapest wide body I've ever seen.
Hey,
So this is the story, I get a call up from one of my buddy's that work in shop on saturday morning. He tells me to come over and check out this "classic car" that he likes and he needs help fixing. To my surprise it was an 83 rx-7 that i've never seen before. The carburator needed to cleaning up and stuff to get it working properly. The wide body kit it only on the rear, but to make it he didn't use any kits, he shop used 2 front fender and welded them to the back. I think that it looked great because it uses the original body lines of the car to follow the back. Now the fron piece where the bumper goes on was smothed out and vinyl mesh sticker was put in to make it look like a side scoop and on the rear same thing. Now I know that this is "ghetto" and the "scoops" will add drag. But you can make it very functional. Because the front and the back it opened up, it won't create a "parachute" effect on the car.
I wish I had my camera at the time, so I don't have any pictures. But i will try to find that guy again and take some pictures of how it looks. Let me know if this has been done before.

I will try to get pictures as soon as I find out where the car is right now. I have to mention that the guy was still using stock wheels and stuff so it looks pretty empty in the back. I'll will try to call my buddy up from the garage to see if he knows where the car is.

Terrified.
I personally can't stand the way it looks, but I understand that it took a lot of hours of work to get that done. I don't understand why the original fenders are still there considering it defeats the purpose, but to each his own.

I like, its different, I can appreciate it from a autobody guys point of view. Would I have done a few things differently, such as smooth the vents, make them active, etc, yes, but I think the idea is great and I give kudos for a job very well done.
