Center Vent replacement gauge pod

I had a good idea last night. I've always wanted to replace those two rectangle center vents on the S1 and S2 interiors. Lately I've been playing with fiberglass a lot and I'm going to mock one up later on this week and take it to the Ohio RX-7 club meet on the 1st. Here's a quickly done photoshop of what I'm thinking of.

First thing is that I will make a mold of the radio surround shroud. Since both the radio surround and the gauge panel surround have this shroud it would make it look more stock.

I also hope to be able to put 3 gauges in there. I'm going to use my a-pillar gauge to mark the gauge holes and have them facing the driver.

Anyone else think this is a good idea? Any interest in copies if the mock up looks WAY better than my quickie photoshop?

Who the hell needs vents? Only pussies use A/C

But for those that still want them I was thinking of maybe ducting them behind the gauges and then outlets to the side, I dunno.

Maybe not so much gauges are for ******, but you can't just have heat, vent, or A/C blowing on the back of your new gauge pod. I think Mantis was asking where would the feed to the vents go?

Pussies and those living in California, Nevada, Australia, etc. who want to be able to drive their car without heat stroke

But as DriftFB said I was thinking more about the HVAC constantly blowing on the back of the gauges - that could potentially cause condensation problems or other issues, not to mention making the vent system overall less efficient at, well, venting.

This whole project is under the assumption that all vents are blocked off. Typically what is done when A/C is removed and heat is no longer used.

Gosh, look at the bigger picture. Probably just going to steal my idea, Manntis.

Well hey this is just an idea.

You can always block off the center vents and retain the two vents on the far sides.

This is just an idea, MY IDEA, if you don't like it you don't have to bother making it. pussies

I'm down for one of those. I hate my heater anyway, plus the a/c isn't connected so **** it. I can never get the damn heater to defrost my window, it always ends up fogging it up.

Not only a post *****, but a drunkard of one, too.

I'm going to go out and buy some more filters for my respirator so I can play with more resins and do this.
