Cat tubes to air pump
I have a question about the tubes that run from the air pump to the 2 cats. Both of mine have rotted off and the main bigger tube just broke on me today and is not salvageable. I know they feed air to the cats for emissions but will it harm my engine if I run without them. I am thinking of running a high flow cat in the future but not right now. Do I have to block off the air pump or can I just leave it alone?
Thanks

The car is an 84gs. When I bought the car I had a disconnected air tube in a box of parts which was not hooked up to the car. I assumed that this was for the primary cat.

There is only 1 air tube and it goes to the main cat. If you do not care about your cat you can run it without the air tube for awhile. The problem is that eventually the cat will come apart and clog since the unburned fuel will not be ignited. You do not need to disconnect the air pump.
I recommend that you hook it up and run it like it was supposed to just to avoid the possiblity of clogging the cat.
