Cash value of a streetport motor with <2k?
I'm thinking of selling my current motor to help pay for a bigger streetport. This one is cut at 58 degrees (it may have been something else, I have it recorded somewhere), has the water jacket modification, the 17.5mm oil pump, mazdacomp oil jets, lightest front counterweight, 80 or earlier rotor housings, lightest 12A rotors and the 23# flywheel. I built the motor myself, it runs perfect and has lots more power than my stockport had, but I want to go faster. About 1800 miles on the clock.
How much is it worth on the open market? I can ship and I'd be more than willing to install it in someones car if they paid me.

Just like any modded engine, no one wants to pay you what you think it's worth...I can tell you for sure that no hi-po engine ever resells for what it cost to put it together...you can't even get the total price of the parts in the engine on a resell situation. I'm thinking that most of the members in this 1stgen corner are all tossing the number $500 in their head. Would you accept that amount? That's why no one will reply...

I've seen stockports with tens of thousands of miles go for more than that. I guess I'll just keep it then and save up for the big one, maybe I'll go bridge.

qoute from Mazdatrix:
Important note on counterweights: The front and rear (or flywheel) counterweights PLUS the rotors make a balanced assembly. The years / rotors we list in the following charts are for PRODUCTION years of the rotors / counterweights! A lot of mixing can be done when building engines, providing the rotors and counterweights match. By this we mean 89-92 non-turbo rotors (lighter weight, higher compression) can be used in an 84-85 13B engine as long as the matching front and rear counterweights are used also, for instance.
