Carpet color

So i bought a used complete carpet set of an 1980 rx7 from ebay because the previous owner installed a aftermarket carpet that didnt match to well. I got it in the mail today but the color is super dark almost brown. Is the burgundy from the 80's rx7 different from the 85 rx7's or am i just used to the bright red from the carpet i have now?

the two colors are different. the interior of the S2 RX-7 was a wine red opposed to a burgandy on the S3.

you'd want to dye the carpet over painting it. paint will make it stiff and not very nice looking. or you can just buy the correct carpet which is would save you a lot of time.
