Carls the Best
I wanted to post complements and recommendations for Carl and his Sterling Carb. The Carb is a work of art and the service provided is the best I've received. Carl responds to all emails immediately and explains everything you need to know.
Performance imporovement on my 83 Streetport with MSD iginition is huge - feels like a rocket sled above 6000 and still has power at 8000. Can't wait to dyno and see how I'm doing.
If your considering a performance carb pm Carl you'll be happy you did.

love the braaaap
Don't forget sterling, who the car is named after. He was the original designer of the carb (with carl's help I believe). But RX-7Carl has helped me out on several occations also. Many thanks to the both of you.

Actually I'm pretty sure that Sterling makes the SterlingCarb and that Rx7Carl makes the famous "BananaCarb"
Yeah, they're both great guys. I've dealt almost exclusively with Carl and he's been my saving grace a few times on this car. I'm still battling some problems before getting Roxy on the road, but when she's running fine, Carl's gonna get another big praise thread from me too

Hi Art, glad its working out for you. Yes, the Sterling carb is named after its father, Mr Sterling. We have both worked very hard in developing it and making it work, but he is the daddy of it. Jon, we both make the same carbs no matter which one of us you contact. Its a weird co-op deal. Chris, we'll get you going, and I'll get to flowbench test a Mikuni.

I owe Carl my left kidney, really I do.
Every transaction or interaction I've had with Carl he's stuck his neck out and taken some sort of personal loss to help me with my car. His kindness will not be forgotten!
His wonderful deeds will be well documented later, but rest assured that if it wasn't for Carl, my car wouldn't be driving to the meet Saturday! (It's still not healthy enough to take the cruise, but it's okay for the meet)

Jon, I may need a new liver before this is all over.
Ported, email Sterling for any carb inquires.
I am just gonna help Yapa rebuild his Mikuni. Then flow test it for my own research efforts.

I was thinking about upgrading the carb since I won't be porting this motor out until I'm done with the whole school thing. How much will it cost for the upgrade?
Would this carb be ok as a core. stuff like the choke was removed when I did the mechanical secondary modification.

The carb pictured is just fine.
We cannot discuss pricing on the forum anymore.
I'm making some changes to my site and then the price list will be up again.
I'll let everyone know.

Jacked in the rear to shoehorn those fattys in the back, but only temporarily. (They came with the slots on E-bay.)
Koni adjustables tweaked 3/4 all ways around and the rear stock bar (shimmed) keep the thing from rolling like a pig in mud, and suprisingly I can drift completely nuetral if I don't have a full tank. It pushes with a full tank (it seems).
It's an 85 GS stockport with SE diffy, aluminum flywheel, Sterling Carb, RB header, direct fire ignition, and really good wax.
Even with all that shoe and lsd that works, I still manage to leave a nice dual set of tracks when I want.
It's certainly not set up ideally suspension-wise, but for my roads around here, itdoes quite well.
Soon I'll have new skins all around, go to a smaller set in the rear, and drop it back down to where it should be.
I'll probably spring for the steering kit if business picks up.
