i think so, its named after that for the first letters in teh VIN # 81-85 =FB all of second gen is FC 3rd is FC 79-80 i think was sa because in 80 or 81 opr something they changed the laws or soemthing for VIN #"s to be longer so watever i THINK thats correct.

 

'79 - '80 VINS = SA22cxxxxxxxxx whatever..
'81 - '85 VINS = FBxxxxxxxxx whatever....

that's where they get their names.
