Carburetor question please help?

I am rebulding my carburetor on my 12a ,a nikki, and I have a small problem. I believe it is called a vacume pull off or a dash pot on the carb that works with the choke, I pulled it off and realized their is a spring inside that must be wound before reinstalling onto the choke. I need to know how many times it must be wound. if anyone has any idea or knows where i might find the information, it would be appriciated. I have already refrenced the factory service manual and I dident find it in there or on the net. Thanks!!

Search the members list for Troichoid, and check his posts. In his sig on one of his posts he should have a downloadable FSM. d/l the appropriate one and you should find what you are looking for.

that "spring" coils to close the choke when cold. just put it on and turn it til it closes the choke, tighten. then if it needs a tighter close, just rotate it to apply more tension on the choke blade.

Are you talking about the flat choke heater spring? It sits in the housing and you can see it through a slot? If so, I just use a small screwdriver to pull it so the bent part can hook into the tab for the choke lever. It doesnt actually get "wound".
