Why won't you get your carb back that you sent out?

I just checked the vaccuum system on my car. The one you took out goes to the cat. There's another one that goes to the converter behimd the brake master cylinder. And the third goes to the air control unit behind the intake manifore.I think you can leave that one on, not sure. The best way to do it is to take the air control unit out and custom make a plate and block it.

Exclamation nikki not working right.

ok so i sent out my nikki for a rebuild and got it back today, the choke is removed along with everything else the carb had becides the basics, i live in new york and its old and dont have a choke or sub zero start assist, i knew it wouldnt start without choke so i put the link through and screwed the plate on to just get it running, i got it started and i had to keep playing with the choke butterfly by hand to keep it running if i left it open to long it would die, and if i closed it to long it would die, it warmed up and it would drive with power and pull smoothly, i pushed the clutch in and it died out. it only stays running past 3000 rpms and then gets unstable and wont idle just die below that. no holes on the carb are pluged and i dont know what to plug on it cause the rebuilder said he would and all of the nipples are open, i have the omp hooked up and the two electrical harnesses left, its a pain to restart and wont idle, i dont know if its vacuum or needs tuning, if somone can give me there opinion and maybe i could get a video up of what its doing so i can figure this out.

First, go buy rubber nipple caps & plug all the nipples.
Next, make sure the float bowl solenoid is hooked up.
Then tune it according to these instructions... http://www.sterlingmetalworks.com/tuning.htm

Exclamation

well i capped every single nipple, i opened the throttle while the car was off and no gas shot out the primary's so i am guessing that the accelerator pump is not working right, where is it located and the nut to tune it because sterling has no pics up at his site? no accelerator pump would mean no idle right? the only way it will start is if somone starts it and i fiddle the choke flap to get it up then keep the rpm's up enough suck gas out the carb naturally. help please, i took pictures and will be up soon.

Did you follow the instructions in the link he posted? You'll need to set the idle speed and idle mixture before she'll idle correctly. You'll also need correct timing (should be okay if it was alright before you removed the carb) and no vacuum leaks.

The accelerator pump is not necessary for idle.

I'd suggest downloading the carb manual fromteh FAQ; it's a bit help in understanding what goes on in there. takes a little patience to read it, though.
