Unhappy Carburetion or vacuum hose problems??

I am having trouble with my 79 RX-7 I just bought. The car is idling anywhere from 3000 to 4500 rpm when it is warming up with or without the choke out. Once the car is warm one of two things will happen, the engine will continue to idle at around 3500 or it stalls, when driving and I push the clutch in to come to a stop the car seems to stall more often then keep idling high, to keep the car from stalling I have to pull the choke out which sends the idle back to 3500 or so. I have tried adjusting the air, air fuel mix, and idle adjustment screws but nothing happened, and I cannot find any vacuum hose leaks. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is?

Change fuel filter. If the problem is still so bad, then go to the idle ajust screw. I have an 1985 GSL and I had to plug up the one tube going to the aircleaner to ajust the idle. If that is not it, your fuel pump could be the problem. Check to make sure that fellow is working correctly.

Sorry, but I disagree. Your first guess was probably spot on, so start looking for vacuum leaks. I use a length of hose as a stethoscope, just put one end to your ear and move the other end around the lines until you hear a hissing sound. Good luck...
