*AOL MODE ON* Me too
I'd love a CF hood (I'd have to paint it, but still) Doubly so if it had a T-II hood scoop (it'd be close to the webber DCOE throttlebody I'm planning on putting in, so that'd be cool for a CAI :p)
e-mail or pm me when they come out!

Pretty impressive piece. Do you have a pic of the underside you could post? Is there bracing integrated to prevent it from concaving at speed? Any idea how much to ship? I'm currently without a full time gig, but when I land one I'm interested in one of no-paint quality as I think it would go great with my paint as-is (K8 - Tornado Silver).
For market eval purposes, here's what I'd be interested in with regard to a CF hood.
1. Show quality exterior (top) finish.
2. Any quality interior (underside) finish.
3. Factory fit (perimeter gaps, hinges, & latch). I can deal without prop rod provisions.
4. Lightweight (you already nailed this one).
5. Resonably priced (nailed this one, too IMHO).
I may also be interested in headlight covers and front panel in the future.
I'm amazed there's still enough interest in an 18-24 year old car to R&D parts like this. Kudos to you and everyone else going to these lengths. My hat's off to you folks.

Mines going on my Forumla White 83
. I think the black carbon fiber would look sweet with the formula white with a nice thick coat of clear coat on it to give it a deep 3-D look

Hey Speckamp, weren't you experimenting with a Megasquirt? I guess it didn't pan out?

any links???
my dad used to fix boat hulls, so he know how to use glass for the most part, but a mold???
i dont much care how it looks, my hood now is swiss cheese
umm as for a mold. i was thinking for my slef to accualy get a nice dent free stock hood. stretching a nice think layer of platic over the top. tape it down.
then lay the fiberglass on top of that. once dry you can take it off and peal of the plastic. and you have a thin replica of the stock hood.
then just figure out how to put suport under it so it wont flex and your good to go with hood pins.
most big hardware stors cary fiberglass and reisin.
