Carbon fiber DASH?

I have a 1982 GSL that i completely gutted. The dash had chunks ripped out and very faded so i just tore the whole pad off. Has anyone come across a carbon fiber dash for a first gen ?? -Thanks

you'd probably have to custom make a cf dash cap. those parts aren't normally made for older cars like ours.

It's not something that is made, at least to my knowledge...

Maybe you could talk to FiberMaz and see if there is an interest in producing such a product?

FiberMaz made one, but for right hand drive, also think his was just for 79-82. Sorry don't recall exactly. Wish there was aftermarket out there for my 85. I'm already looking into his cf door blanks, center bezel, and center console. Trying to reduce as much of the interior as possible while retaining a complete look, not gutted.

Yea I bet they would sell. If you want a cheap fix get a salvage dash and nice carpet cover. I don't know if coverking makes one for FB's but I have had them in other old cars.

For the record, if you have a doner dash, it's pretty easy to make a mock-up/mold for your own C/F or fiberglass work. The dash outer (the part you see) is pretty simple.

-- edit --

I'm considering making a C/F dash for myself (Due to fiberglass looking like hammered mango ***,) is anyone else interested?

I would be interested in a true replacement, not just some cheap cap or cover. I'm sure an experience layer would be able to do it. I'd love to send my dash to Fibermaz for him to use as a mold, but shipping would be a PITA and I don't want to be dashless. I took out the a/c in my FB, and would like a dash that would be a complete one piece to include the center stereo bezel area as I don't listen to casettes much, lol and have no need for my stock equalizer...

Problem is it would be somewhere between $600.- $1200. + shipping another $400. (guessing) Who here is really going to pay that? NOBODY....thats who. Just keeping it real fellas.
